Job summary

Acuity International is seeking a Training Officer to deliver and coordinate staff training under NDS 2025 and contractual obligations at a detention facility in the United States.

The role focuses on preservice, inservice, refresher, and specialty training to ensure safety, detainee rights, and operational compliance. The Training Officer works under supervision and supports onboarding and documentation responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience delivering structured training to adult learners.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required clearances.

Responsibilities

• Deliver approved training curricula and lesson plans in accordance with NDS 2025 requirements and facility schedules.
• Conduct instructor-led, practical, and scenario-based training for staff.
• Maintain accurate training records and prepare rosters, logs, and certifications.
• Coordinate training sessions, classrooms, rosters, schedules, and instructional resources.
• Support onboarding training for newly hired staff and subcontractor personnel.
• Assist leadership with training logistics to minimize disruption.
• Prepare training rooms, equipment, and materials before instruction.
• Ensure training environments meet safety and security requirements for a detention setting.
• Escalate compliance deficiencies and training shortfalls through command.
