Job summary

Boundary County Jail is hiring for a full‑time position responsible for the care, custody and control of inmates. This role supervises inmates in the facility and on work details, conducts security checks, dispenses medications, and maintains inmate property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• USCitizen eligibility to attend POST Academy within 1 year.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Able to qualify with firearms.
• Must pass physical fitness standards.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Care for inmates and supervise within jail.
• Oversee intake, booking, and release processes.
• Conduct security checks and manage inmate property.
• Distribute medications as directed by jail physician.
• Maintain jail logs, reports, and paperwork.
• Respond to incidents, de‑escalate and restrain when needed.
