Job summary

COUNTY OF DODGE is looking for a Full-Time Jail Officer in Wisconsin. The starting wage is between $28.08/hr and $30.94/hr with a generous benefits package including Paid Time Off and Health Savings Accounts.

The role involves booking and releasing inmates, maintaining safety and security of the jail, and responding to emergencies. Candidates must hold a High School Diploma and Wisconsin Jail Officer Certification.

Qualifications

• Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification, Taser certification, and PBT certification upon hire.
• Wisconsin Jail Officer Certification required within one year.
• Must pass Post-Offer Testing which includes a drug screen and psychological examination.

Responsibilities

• Receives, books, and releases inmates including checks and searches.
• Maintains jail safety and security through inspections.
• Responds to emergency situations and takes decisive action.
• Monitors and operates equipment in the jail control center.

Skills

Knowledge of legal compliance regarding inmates' rights

Ability to ensure inmate discipline

Ability to develop contingency plans

Skill in organizational and time management

Ability to communicate clearly in English
