Qualifications

• Experience in security, group homes, mental health, or crisis intervention is preferred.
• On-the-job training is provided for those with no prior experience.
• Must be able to attend Wisconsin Jail Officer Academy to become a Certified Jailer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and custody of inmates in the jail.
• Interact daily with inmates and monitor behavior for safety.
• Escort and transport inmates to activities and appointments.
• Prepare arrest records and incident reports as needed.
• Administer medications and provide first aid/CPR when required.
• Maintain records of cash, fines and inmate property.
• Oversee inmate programs and supervise housing areas.
• Assist with inmate admissions, classifications, and releases.
