Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Detention Officer to supervise the safekeeping of prisoners at the county detention facility. You will monitor prisoners during meals, activities, and in their living quarters, ensuring safety and order.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and the recruitment process includes a written test, oral interview, background checks, and fitness evaluations. Prior law enforcement or detention facility experience is preferred.
Yellowstone County candidates for Detention Officer shall adhere to generally accepted business standards for appearance with respect to body art and physical alterations. Face, neck, and hand tattoos are not permitted.
Performs routine supervisory work in the safekeeping of prisoners in custody at the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office Detention Facility. Protects the well-being of prisoners overseeing them at meals, at activities and in their quarters; does related work as required.
