Job summary

Cochise County is seeking a Detention Nurse (MAT/Intake & Discharge) for Bisbee Jail. The role requires an unrestricted RN license in good standing and at least two years of nursing experience, including direct patient care, with CPR certification.

You will administer and monitor medications for MOUD, facilitate intake and discharge processes, and coordinate with the healthcare team to support addiction treatment and community re-entry while adhering to detention health protocols.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted RN license in good standing (Arizona)
• Two (2) years nursing experience; one year direct patient care
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain before starting
• Ability to work in a detention/jail setting with appropriate background checks

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor medications for MOUD and MAT
• Coordinate intake and discharge processes for detained individuals
• Assess, document, and update patient health records in compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with healthcare team and community resources for treatment planning
• Provide patient education on treatment options and adherence
• Respond to crises related to substance use or psychiatric emergencies
