Job summary

Amica Center for Immigrant Rights seeks a Detention Hotline Coordinator within the Detained Adult Program (DAP) to streamline the free detention hotline and support the Know Your Rights team visiting detention facilities in Virginia. The role ensures trauma-informed, accurate legal education and creates up-to-date training materials for volunteers, interns, and staff.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience or legal training in immigration law.
• At least 1 year of supervision experience.
• Oral and written Spanish professional proficiency required, fluency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Detention Hotline and KYR support.
• Oversee hotline staffing schedules and tech issues.
• Supervise volunteers, interns, and paralegals on the hotline.
• Provide substantive legal training to volunteers and interns.
• Help maintain up-to-date training materials and resources.
• Coordinate with KYR and other teams to optimize hotline workflows.
• Attend detention facility visits for KYR presentations and workshops.
• Track trends and issues affecting detained individuals and referrals.
