Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent, with potential certification within 12 months.
• Ability to perform detention center duties and follow jail policies.
• Certification by NC Sheriffs Training and Standards Commission within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Admit prisoners to the Detention Center; book and search inmates; supervise in booking areas.
• Inspect prisoners and quarters; supervise trustees; enforce rules and sanitation.
• Supervise daily inmate activities; prepare paperwork for admissions and releases.
• Provide lead or supervisory duties in higher-level roles; train new hires.
