Job summary

The City of Rocky Mount Police Department is seeking a sworn law enforcement professional to enforce state and local laws, investigate crimes, and prepare cases for court. The role requires handling interviews, evidence collection, and detailed report writing in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of sworn law enforcement experience.
• Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate or comparable professional law enforcement certification from another state as determined by the Rocky Mount Police Department.
• Knowledge of criminal investigative principles, practices and techniques, including interviewing, evidence collection and preservation, case preparation, report writing, and search warrant preparation.

Responsibilities

• Enforce state and local laws.
• Investigate crimes and collect and preserve evidence.
• Conduct interviews and interrogations and prepare cases for court.
• Prepare incident and arrest reports and serve subpoenas.
• Conduct follow-up investigations and present evidence in court.
