United States Digital Space LLC in New York seeks an Engineering Manager of Detection Engineering to lead a team building and operating our security detection capabilities across cloud, SaaS, and product systems. You'll drive the roadmap, mentor engineers, collaborate with IT, Risk, Compliance, and our external SOC, and translate security priorities into concrete engineering outcomes.

The role is based in NYC with a base salary in the $175,000–$215,000 range and eligible for incentive bonuses as

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security engineering or operations.
• 2+ years managing security or detection engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Detection Program Strategy: own, drive, and execute the roadmap.
• Detection Quality: measure health, coverage, precision, false positives.
• Threat Modeling: define telemetry and threat models before ship.
• Incident Response Leadership: oversee IR and post-incident reviews.
• Team Leadership: mentor and grow detection engineers.
• External SOC Partnership: define scope and improve triage quality.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: align with IT, Risk, Compliance, and Security.
• Engineering Quality: uphold high standards and maintainable code.
• Compliance: lead audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
