Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Lead Structural Steel Detailer to oversee the detailing department for commercial and data center projects across the United States. Responsibilities include managing internal and external detailers, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring adherence to AISC standards and project specs.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in steel detailing and proficiency with Tekla, with a must-have requirement of being based in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the structural steel detailing department across multiple commercial and data center projects.
• Oversee the production, review and approval of Tekla Structures models, shop drawings and erection drawings.
• Manage internal detailers and external detailing subcontractors to ensure project schedules are achieved.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Fabrication Managers and Production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review structural and architectural drawings, specifications and contract documents to ensure detailing accuracy.
• Ensure all detailing complies with AISC standards, project specifications and fabrication requirements.
• Resolve design conflicts and respond to RFIs while coordinating with clients, engineers and contractors.
• Monitor detailing schedules, workloads and project milestones to ensure on-time delivery.
• Support material procurement by producing accurate bills of materials and CNC data.
• Implement and maintain detailing standards, quality procedures and best practices across the department.
• Mentor and develop detailing staff while driving continuous process improvements.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, engineers, general contractors and internal stakeholders
