Job Summary
The Detailer is responsible for maintaining the immaculate appearance and presentation of every vehicle within CURATED’s showroom, storage, and service environments. This individual will play a critical role in upholding the visual integrity of our collection, ensuring that each vehicle, whether on display, in storage, or being prepared for delivery, reflects the highest standards of cleanliness, preservation, and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate is detail-obsessed, organized, and takes genuine pride in caring for rare and significant automobiles. This role bridges hands‑on detailing with disciplined facility upkeep, supporting the broader CURATED team in delivering a flawless client and brand experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash and detail vehicles to CURATED’s exacting presentation standards, using approved products and techniques appropriate for vintage, modern-classic, and exotic finishes. (Note: this role does not involve machine polishing or paint correction.)
- Perform interior detailing including leather, suede, Alcantara, carpet, and trim care, with sensitivity to original and period-correct materials.
- Maintain tire, wheel, and engine bay presentation to a concours-level standard.
- Inspect vehicles before and after detailing for any cosmetic concerns and report findings to the appropriate team member.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of every vehicle in the showroom at all times.
- Place and rotate vehicles on battery tenders to ensure optimal electrical health while on display.
- Monitor showroom vehicles daily for dust, fingerprints, and any presentation issues, addressing them immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of all vehicles housed in storage facilities.
- Maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and order of the storage environment, including floors, walls, and surrounding areas.
- Conduct routine checks on stored vehicles to confirm condition, cover integrity, and tender function, escalating any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory of detailing products, supplies, and equipment, reordering as needed to avoid disruptions.
- Keep the detail bay and workstations clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Properly care for and maintain detailing tools and equipment, ensuring longevity and consistent performance.
- Follow safe handling procedures when moving or positioning vehicles within the facility.
- Assist the operations team with vehicle movements around the property as needed, including guiding, directing, and pushing vehicles in and out of the showroom, storage, and service areas.
- Coordinate with team members to safely shuffle inventory when reconfiguring the showroom or storage layout.
- Work closely with technicians, sales staff, and operations leadership to coordinate vehicle prep for delivery, photography, and events.
- Represent CURATED’s commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and authenticity in every interaction and task.
- Contribute to the development of detailing SOPs to improve consistency, efficiency, and quality of presentation across the collection.
- Uphold the company’s philosophy of transparency, care, and stewardship throughout every project.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional detailing experience, preferably with high‑end, exotic, or collector vehicles.
- Working knowledge of paint finishes and the proper hand‑wash and detailing products and procedures for delicate, vintage, and exotic paintwork.
- Experience with interior material care (leather, suede, Alcantara) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with battery tenders, car covers, and proper long‑term vehicle storage practices.
- Comfortable handling and maneuvering high‑value vehicles with manual transmissions a plus.
