Job summary

Preston Auto Group is seeking a dedicated detailer to prepare both new and pre-owned vehicles for showroom presentation. You will train fellow techs, oversee supplies, and perform final quality checks to ensure every car meets standards before hitting the frontline.

Detailer

Preston Auto Group's busy dealership is looking for adetailer who obsesses over every detail and loves that new car smell. We work hard, but we take good care of the people who make our success possible — and for the right person, the rewards can be outstanding.

As a Detailer, you'll be responsible for getting every vehicle — new and pre-owned — showroom ready. You'll train other techs, keep supplies stocked, catch damage before it becomes a problem, and make sure every car passes a final quality check before hitting the frontline.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist other make-ready and detail technicians
• Maintain inventory and order make-ready supplies
• Act as liaison between department staff and sales managers to facilitate the process for new and pre-owned vehicles
• Detail client vehicles as needed
• Maintain strict adherence to dealership policy on client vehicle care and operation
• Note damage and notify service so a claim can be filed within 24 hours
• Perform quality control inspections of all vehicles before they're brought to the frontline
• Coordinate with sales and service to ensure on-time deliveries
• Attend department meetings

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods
• Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift up to 10 lbs.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
