Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking an on-site Detail Shop associate at our Manheim location.

You will inspect vehicles, coordinate workflows to meet quality standards, and ensure all safety protocols and PPE usage are followed while performing and charging services to the vehicle. Preferred candidates have a High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of related experience; valid driver's license required, and ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; 3 years' related experience, or alternative combination as described.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive both standard and automatic transmissions.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles to ensure repairs and work are satisfactorily completed.
  • Coordinate workflow to complete vehicles in a timely manner per Manheim quality standards.
  • Monitor processes to ensure SOPs are followed and PPE is used properly.
  • Assist with safety guidelines to comply with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Ensure services are performed and charged appropriately to the vehicle.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies, materials, and equipment for the Detail Shop.

Job description

  • Coordinate the workflow to ensure all vehicles are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established Manheim quality standards.
  • Monitor process and work being performed to ensure SOP's are being followed properly.
  • Ensure the appropriate PPE and safety equipment is available and employees are properly trained in their use.
  • Responsible for ensuring all services are performed and appropriately charged against the vehicle.
  • Monitor and control the use of supplies, materials, and equipment for the Detail Shop, and coordinate the replenishment process.
  • Assist the Supervisor in the monitoring and implementing guidelines for a safe work environment and achieve compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling those behaviors.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, including driving vehicles into building and to proper clean car staging area, occasional sale day driving.

Qualifications
Minimum
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
  • OR 5 years' experience in a related field
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • While you won't need to do any crazy folk dancing, you must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and lean for extended periods.
Preferred

Basic knowledge of auto detailing, paint application processes, and associated repair procedures (preferred but not required).

USD 18.22 - 27.36 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $18.22 - $27.36/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
