Job description

Job Title: Vehicle Detailer

*1,000 Sign on bonus*

($500 paid out after 30 days of employment, $500 paid out after 90 days of employment)

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Clean out and de-trash the interior of vehicles by removing debris and trash from ashtrays, consoles, dashboards, door panels, seats, etc., as well as trunks and engine compartments.
  2. Remove license plates, stickers, and any writing from windows, except those pertinent to Auction business. Disassemble spare tires in trunks.
  3. Wash vehicles using high-pressure washers or automatic car wash equipment. Apply chemicals, power-wash engine compartments, and clean battery terminals.
  4. Clean doorjambs, sills, interior panels, wheels, tires, hub caps/wheel covers, wheel wells, moldings, bumpers, head- and taillights, spare tires, exterior panels, trunks, hoods, and windows (interior and exterior). Detail vehicles by cleaning and dressing trim, molding, weather stripping, instrument panels, steering wheels, dash moldings, etc., using brushes.
  5. Buff vehicles by applying dressing to engine compartments, wheels, wheel wells, tires, vinyl tops, etc. Apply compounds, cleaners, and/or polish to vehicle interiors, and buff out using a rotary buffer or by hand as necessary. Wax and buff exterior and painted surfaces.
  6. Vacuum interiors, scrub, shampoo, and spot clean carpets and upholstery. Straighten seatbelts.
  7. Clean glove boxes, ensuring warranty booklets, owner's manuals, and other manufacturer-issued information are returned.
  8. Follow all safety and health procedures, actively participating in safety activities to demonstrate safety commitment.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, including driving vehicles into the building and to staging areas, and occasional sale day driving.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  2. Less than 2 years' experience in a related field.
  3. Previous experience in a detail shop or buffing is helpful.
  4. Valid driver's license required; safe driving needed.
  5. Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
  6. Physical requirements: standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, climbing.
  7. Medium strength: ability to lift 1-30 pounds.
  8. Manual dexterity and repetitive motion skills.
  9. Vision abilities: close, distance, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
  1. Frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions.
  2. Occasional outdoor weather exposure, moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and chemicals.
  3. Moderate noise level.
Compensation:

Hourly rate: $13.37 - $20.00, based on location, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include commissions and incentives.

Benefits:

Minimum of sixteen hours paid time off monthly, seven paid holidays, and additional leave options such as bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.
