Job summary

Buick GMC Cadillac of Thousand Oaks, part of Swickard Auto Group, is seeking a Detail Technician to join our high-volume, multi-brand dealership. In a flat-rate environment, you’ll detail interiors and exteriors to our presentation standards, with growth opportunities as you prove your speed and quality.

No experience is required, but a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail will help you earn and advance along a clear career path within our team.

Qualifications

• No detailing experience required, but helpful if you have cleaning or car wash experience
• High personal standard for quality and pride in results
• Self-directed, productive, with flat-rate rewards for speed and consistency
• Comfortable operating detail equipment safely and effectively
• Physically capable of standing, bending, and working on your feet

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on vehicles to dealership standards
• Prepare vehicles for guest delivery to ensure clean, presentable, and ready for first impressions
• Apply paint protection, fabric protection, and aftermarket appearance products as directed
• Inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues and address or escalate as needed
• Operate detail equipment safely (pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe detail bay
• Coordinate with advisors, sales staff, and porters to prioritize readiness and timelines
• Work efficiently on a flat-rate structure to maximize earnings

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, used, and service vehicles -- washing, vacuuming, polishing, and protecting to dealership standards
• Prepare vehicles for guest delivery -- ensuring every car is clean, presentable, and ready to make a strong first impression
• Apply paint protection, fabric protection, and aftermarket appearance products as directed
• Inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues during the detail process -- scratches, stains, and odors -- addressing or escalating appropriately
• Operate detail equipment including pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners safely and effectively
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe detail bay and work area throughout every shift
• Coordinate with service advisors, sales staff, and porters to prioritize vehicle readiness and meet delivery timelines
• Work efficiently on a flat-rate structure -- your throughput, quality, and consistency directly drive your earnings

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• No prior detailing experience required -- previous cleaning, detailing, car wash, or fleet service experience is a strong plus
• A high personal standard for quality -- you notice what others miss and take pride in the result
• Self-directed and productive -- flat-rate rewards speed and consistency, and you bring both
• Comfortable operating detail equipment safely and effectively
• Physically capable of standing, bending, and working on your feet throughout the shift
• Reliable and punctual -- vehicle readiness touches every department and the whole store notices when it runs well
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
