Job summary

Toyota of Stroudsburg is seeking a Detail Technician to perform reconditioning at all levels in a fast-paced, performance-driven dealership environment. You will ensure vehicles meet high-quality appearance and safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to work independently or in a team, and adherence to OSHA and company policies. You will use buffers, steamers, vacuums, and cleaning agents to restore vehicle condition.

• Performs work with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain the required parts or accessories to complete the job.
• Examines assigned vehicle(s) to determine if it has any existing damage or added parts and capture that information on the customer detail checklist.
• Communicates with the Detail Manager if additional work is needed, or if reconditioning cannot be completed within the allotted time.
• Recondition vehicles interiors and exteriors in compliance with all company standards and customers requests.
• Operates buffers, steamers, air hoses, vacuums, and other equipment to meet company service expectations.
• Utilize cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to enhance and maintain vehicle appearance in compliance with the company and OSHA regulations.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Detail Technician is to function as a skilled-level detail employee who can perform reconditioning at all levels. The role of Detail Technician is to achieve and maintain a high-quality product in a fast-paced performance-oriented environment.

Role and Responsibilities

• Performs work with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain the required parts or accessories to complete the job.
• Examines assigned vehicle(s) to determine if it has any existing damage or added parts and capture that information on the customer detail checklist.
• Communicates with the Detail Manager if additional work is needed, or if reconditioning cannot be completed within the allotted time.

• Achieves 120% or greater hour efficiency.
• Recondition vehicles interiors and exteriors in compliance with all company standards and customers requests.
• Operates buffers, steamers, air hoses, vacuums, and other equipment to meet company service expectations.
• Understand company needs and can shift priorities.
• Ensure the carwash and internal area is maintained up to company standards.
• Utilize cleaning, protective, and restorative agents to enhance and maintain vehicle appearance in compliance with the company and OSHA regulations.
• Maneuvering vehicles on and off company premises to different locations independently or with customers.
• Manage inventory and reordering supplies on an as needed basis.

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Properly dispose of used parts and return unused parts to the parts counterperson
• Comply with all company policies and uphold standards for service quality.
• Participates in company training programs, schools, and events.
• Refuel new or used vehicles when needed and approved by a manager.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the Detail Manager.
• Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies a manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of a vehicle.
• No unnecessary use of customer vehicles or reckless driving.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and property. Returns them to the proper location and in the same condition as they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment
• Other duties as needed

• Moving about the dealership to complete auto detailing
• Using hand and/or power tools and equipment consistent with industry standards
• Using computer to look up information
• Standing or walking for 6 to 8 hours in a shift
• Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, and climbing
• Utilizing physical and manual dexterity
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
