Swickard Auto Group's Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of Anchorage is seeking a Detail Technician. The position offers a flat-rate pay model ($20–$25/hr) and welcomes applicants with or without prior automotive detailing experience.

You will perform thorough interior and exterior detailing, prep vehicles for delivery, apply protection products, inspect for cosmetic issues, operate detailing equipment, and collaborate with service and sales staff to keep vehicles ready for guests.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on vehicles to dealership standards.
• Prepare vehicles for guest delivery so each car is clean and ready for first impressions.
• Apply paint protection, fabric protection, and aftermarket appearance products as directed.
• Inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues and address or escalate as needed.
• Operate detail equipment safely (pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners).
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe detail area at all times.
• Coordinate with service advisors, porters, and sales staff to prioritize readiness and timelines.
• Work on a flat-rate structure; earnings depend on speed and quality.

What You’ll Do

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, used, and service vehicles -- washing, vacuuming, polishing, and protecting to dealership standards
• Prepare vehicles for guest delivery -- ensuring every car is clean, presentable, and ready to make a strong first impression
• Apply paint protection, fabric protection, and aftermarket appearance products as directed
• Inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues -- scratches, stains, and odors -- and address or elevate appropriately
• Operate detail equipment including pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners safely and effectively
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe detail bay and work area at all times
• Coordinate with service advisors, porters, and sales staff to prioritize vehicle readiness and meet delivery timelines
• Work efficiently on a flat-rate structure -- your speed, quality, and throughput directly determine your earnings

What We’re Looking For

• Previous detail or automotive experience preferred -- dealership detailing experience a strong plus
• Motivated candidates without formal experience are welcome -- if you take pride in your work and move with urgency, we’ll build the rest
• A high personal standard for quality -- you notice what others miss and won’t put your name on work that isn’t right
• Self-directed and productive -- flat rate rewards speed and consistency, and you need both
• Physically capable of standing, bending, and working on your feet throughout the shift in varying Alaska conditions
• Comfortable operating detail equipment safely and effectively
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
