Job summary

Walstrom Marine, Inc. is seeking a detail shop supervisor to lead full-time and seasonal crews across multiple Harbor Springs locations. You will manage schedules, ensure quality standards and coordinate with customers for timely detailing services.

Ideal candidates will bring prior supervisory experience in marine services, strong communication skills, and a commitment to high workmanship. A valid driver's license is required, and travel to other Walstrom locations may occur.

What We're Looking For

Walstrom Marine is looking for a candidate with supervising and detail experience to help grow our Northern Michigan detailing team! Previous experience in a marine or related service industry is preffered.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise full-time and seasonal detailing and cleaning crew members.
• Coordinate and manage weekly crew schedules at multiple locations to plan and schedule detail work: washes, polishing, waxing, bottom cleaning, and interior details.
• Conduct daily quality control inspections of completed detailing work.
• Identify and address substandard work or unsatisfactory outcomes with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Use and dispose of chemicals per SDS sheets, OSHA rules and the marina's environmental policies.
• Prepare and submit detailed service estimates to customers.
• Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding services, timelines, and feedback.
• Provide excellent customer service and uphold professional communication standards.
• Travel to other Walstrom Marine locations to set up, expand and support their detailing operations.
• Recruit and train detail crews at new or growing sites to the same quality standard.
• Identify opportunities to add detailing services.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Customer service oriented and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with other business or scheduling software.
• Previous supervisory experience in a marine, detailing, or related service industry is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Schedule

• 8-hour shift
• Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, Saturday availability required during summer months
• This is an in person, onsite position based out of our Harbor Springs location.
