Job summary

The City of Waco seeks a part-time Destination Engagement Associate to join our Welcome Center team. You will assist tourists, answer questions, sell gifts, and support Mobile Welcome Center activations, up to 20 hours per week.

Under supervision, you’ll provide information about Waco's attractions, process sales, handle cash, and help maintain welcoming displays, contributing to the city’s tourism mission.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service experience, preferably in tourism, hospitality, or retail.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.
• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to Welcome Center visitors and DMO clients.
• Sell merchandise from the Welcome Center gift shop.
• Process cash/credit transactions, operate the register, and prepare daily deposits.
• Assist with Mobile Welcome Center operations at off-site events and activations.
• Fulfill online retail order requests with timely responses.
• Promote Waco’s tourism assets by sharing brochures and local highlights.
• Support Welcome Center operations, restock merchandise, and keep displays neat.
• Adapt to a flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings.
• Drive Mobile Welcome Center to off-site locations and assist events and activations.
