Remote Help-Desk Technician II

Software Galaxy Systems, LLC

Location: Remote

About the Project: The "1Desktop" project aims to standardize all devices on a single hardware platform and image. This team will follow the deployment team to provide end-user support, troubleshoot issues in real-time, and ensure a smooth transition to the new system.

About this Position: The technician will primarily be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues on desktop computers post-deployment. This includes troubleshooting and reinstalling applications, setting up user accounts, and providing technical assistance to end-users, acting as the first point of contact for hardware and software-related problems post-deployment.

  1. 2+ years of Desktop Support or Equivalent (need a strong understanding of computer hardware and software support)
  2. Proficiency in troubleshooting techniques
  3. Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with users

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  1. Identifying the root cause of computer problems related to hardware, software, operating systems, network connectivity, and peripherals.
  2. Installing and updating applications, drivers, and operating systems on user workstations.
  3. Creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, managing access permissions, and resetting passwords.
  4. Identifying and resolving hardware issues like faulty RAM, hard drive problems, malfunctioning peripherals, and monitor issues.
  5. Implementing and enforcing security policies on user workstations, including password management and software updates.
  6. Logging, tracking, and prioritizing user-reported issues within a ticketing system (QuickBase & ServiceNow).
  7. Providing basic computer training to users on new applications or features.
  8. Working with department end users to confirm functionality, verifying everything is correct with department heads.
  9. Data collection and reporting.

  3. Basic technical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  4. Ability to follow instructions accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  1. CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent experience.
  2. Proven experience as a PC Technician or similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and imaging software.
  4. Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and compliance standards is a plus.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Experience Level:

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
