Job Description

The Desktop Support Specialist I provides support to management and staff in all aspects of workplace technology services, including network-based systems, software, and hardware.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level support for workplace technology, including network systems, software, hardware, security, recovery, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and upgrades.
  • Support and troubleshoot network printers, scanners, mobile devices, and more.
  • Manage workstation moves, additions, and changes across Mount Sinai locations and off-campus sites.
  • Support remote Mount Sinai users, which may involve local travel.
  • Participate in testing and quality assurance of new technology packages and prototypes.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction by resolving issues efficiently and escalating when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with end-users, colleagues, and management.
  • Complete all required training and perform related duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education
  • Baccalaureate degree in Information Technology or related field, OR
  • High school diploma or GED with three years of relevant experience.
Experience
  • At least one year of full-time experience in computer repair, maintenance, and installation.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to identify problem trends and support end-users effectively.
Certifications (Preferred)
  • A+, Network+, Security+, Apple Certifications.
Technical Skills
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Mac OS.
  • Support and troubleshooting of Microsoft O365, mobile devices, basic networking, Active Directory, and ITSM systems like ServiceNow.
Skills and Competencies
  • Broad knowledge of end-user computing and network systems.
  • Flexibility to travel and adapt to duties and hours as needed.
