Job summary

Infinity Natural Resources, Inc. is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist - Field to keep field personnel connected with laptops, mobile devices, and connectivity solutions. You will set up hardware, resolve tickets, and support onboarding/offboarding while minimizing downtime across remote locations.

Based out of the Quaker City office, this hybrid role requires up to 50% travel to remote field offices and field sites as needed, supporting corporate IT for both field and office environments.

Qualifications

• 2 years of technical education or certification in IT or a related field, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• 2 years of experience in a help desk or IT support role preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems and standard desktop applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple requests.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary IT support resource for field personnel, ensuring access to critical technologies.
• Respond to help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner.
• Set up and configure new user hardware, software, accounts, and access.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Provide first-level support for Microsoft Office products, email, and VPN connections.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks including imaging workstations and disabling accounts.
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Escalate complex issues to senior team members and assist in resolution.
• Support basic network troubleshooting tasks like port resets and printer sharing.
• Deliver professional customer service to internal users in person, by phone, or virtually.

The Opportunity

Infinity Natural Resources is looking for a Desktop Support Specialist - Field to keep our people connected and productive, in the office and out in the field. You'll be the go-to IT support resource for field personnel who rely on laptops, mobile devices, and connectivity solutions to safely and efficiently perform daily operations in remote locations, alongside providing first- and second-level support for our corporate team. From setting up new hardware and resolving help desk tickets to supporting onboarding, offboarding, and basic network troubleshooting, you'll play a hands-on role in minimizing downtime and keeping business-critical technology running smoothly. This is a great fit for someone who's looking to build hands-on field support experience while growing their technical skill set.

Location

This position is based out of our Quaker City office and is hybrid-eligible, with travel up to 50% to remote field offices and field sites as needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Serve as the primary IT support resource for field personnel, ensuring reliable access to critical business and operational technologies that enable safe, efficient, and uninterrupted oil and gas operations.
• Respond to help desk tickets and support requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Set up and configure new user hardware, software, accounts, and access in accordance with company procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Provide first-level support for Microsoft Office products, email systems, and VPN connections.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks including imaging workstations, disabling accounts, and collecting equipment.
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior team members and assist in resolution as needed.
• Support basic network troubleshooting tasks such as port resets, printer sharing, and connection diagnostics.
• Deliver professional and courteous customer service to internal users in person, via phone, or virtually.

Your Background

• 2 years of technical education or certification in Information Technology or a related field; 4 years of relevant IT support experience accepted in lieu of education.
• 2 years of experience in a help desk, IT support, or desktop technician role preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems and standard desktop applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple requests simultaneously.
• Customer service orientation with a professional, courteous demeanor.
• Willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, asset tracking tools, and remote support software preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 50% to remote field offices or field sites as needed.
• Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
• Ability to perform light work, including occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity, including kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, crouching, stooping, and reaching.
• Ability to operate standard office and IT equipment including computers, mobile devices, printers, and network hardware.
