Job summary

Axiom Technologies is seeking a reliable Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-site IT support for enterprise clients in Des Moines, IA. This contract-based, on-demand role requires responding to service requests and delivering hands-on assistance for desktops, laptops, and peripherals at client sites.

Ideal candidates will have strong Windows expertise, hardware and networking basics, and excellent communication skills. Immediate start with dispatch-based assignments and no guaranteed hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
• Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
• Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
• Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
• Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing onsite tasks.

Role Overview

This is a contract-based, on-demand position, meaning work assignments will be provided as and when support is required. Availability and responsiveness are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Work Model

• On-demand / field support role
• Work assignments will be shared by the Service Delivery Team
• Engineers will be contacted via phone or email when support is required
• Engineers will receive site location, SPOC details, and reporting time before each assignment
• No guaranteed number of working hours
