Job summary

Axiom Technologies is seeking a capable Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-site IT support for enterprise clients in Columbus, OH. This contract-based, on-demand role involves handling Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, and network connectivity.

Immediate start; the position is Independent Contractor / Part-Time with no guaranteed hours, and tasks are dispatched by the Service Delivery Team. Local travel may be required to client sites.

Qualifications

• Strong hardware troubleshooting and device installation skills.
• Fundamental networking knowledge (LAN, switches, routers).

• Ability to work independently in field locations and dispatch environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
• Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
• Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
• Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.

Role Overview

This role involves responding to service requests when required and providing hands-on technical assistance for desktop systems, laptops, network connectivity, and peripheral devices at the client location. This is a contract-based, on-demand position, meaning work assignments will be provided as and when support is required. Availability and responsiveness are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
• Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.

• Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing onsite tasks.
