Job summary

Axiom Technologies is seeking a capable Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-site IT support for enterprise clients in Savoy, Illinois. This contract role focuses on rapid response, troubleshooting Windows desktops, laptops, printers and network issues at the client site.

The ideal candidate will have strong hardware skills, basic networking understanding, and excellent communication to work independently on site assignments dispatched by the Service Delivery Team. Immediate start is available.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows desktop environments and hardware troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues.
• Familiarity with basic LAN troubleshooting and network connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
• Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, OS, and enterprise software.
• Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
• Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
• Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
• Follow client IT policies and security procedures onsite.

We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate, ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide on-site assistance to end-users within the organisation’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable and technically skilled Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-demand, on-site IT support for enterprise clients. This role involves responding to service requests when required and providing hands-on technical assistance for desktop systems, laptops, network connectivity, and peripheral devices at the client location.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
• Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
• Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
• Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
• Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing onsite tasks.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments
• Experience in hardware troubleshooting and replacement
• Basic understanding of networking (LAN connectivity, switches, routers)
• Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently in onsite support environments

Work Model

• Work assignments will be shared by the Service Delivery Team
