Job description

Insight Global is seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join a team in a healthcare environment, focusing on a Windows 11 upgrade project. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in imaging new devices, upgrading existing systems, and providing post-upgrade support to ensure a seamless transition for end-users, including clinicians and administrative staff. You will collaborate with a team to address and close support tickets during downtime, maintaining high service levels in a fast-paced enterprise IT setting. The ideal candidate brings over 3 years of experience as a PC/computer technician, with a strong background in LAN/WAN troubleshooting, enterprise IT environments, and remote PC support, coupled with a thorough understanding of computer systems, internet security, and data privacy principles. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills are essential, as is the ability to manage time effectively and stay organized amidst multiple priorities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a critical technology initiative while supporting the operational needs of a healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the imaging and deployment of new devices as part of the Windows 11 upgrade initiative, ensuring compatibility and functionality across a healthcare enterprise environment, while also upgrading existing devices with minimal disruption to end-users.
  • Provide post-upgrade support by troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, including LAN/WAN connectivity, printer support, and remote PC challenges, while adhering to internet security and data privacy standards.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to manage and close support tickets during downtime, maintaining detailed documentation of issues and resolutions, and ensuring timely communication with stakeholders to uphold exceptional customer service.
  • Leverage strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks, handle multiple support requests, and contribute to the overall success of the Windows 11 rollout in a high-stakes healthcare setting.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a PC/computer technician or in a similar role, with demonstrated expertise in enterprise IT environments, including LAN/WAN network troubleshooting, printer support, and remote PC issue resolution.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components, paired with good understanding of internet security and data privacy principles, excellent troubleshooting skills, and strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Plusses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ are highly advantageous.
