Job summary

Corient is seeking a Deskside Support Engineer in Boston, MA to provide end-user IT support for laptops, printers, mobile devices, and networked systems. The role requires hands-on and remote capabilities, adherence to IT and security standards, and collaboration with IT teams.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree or equivalent, 3–4 years in deskside support, and solid experience with Windows 11 and Office apps.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree (or equivalent proven industry experience).
  • 3–4 years of deskside support focusing on end-user services.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and customer service skills.
  • Experience with laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Proficiency with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office apps (OneDrive, SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ticketing and incident management platforms; knowledge of networking basics.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, service-focused end-user support in person, by phone, chat, or email for onsite and remote users.
  • Troubleshoot problems promptly and accurately, providing end-user assistance as needed.
  • Resolve complex issues and collaborate with other teams to identify root causes and solutions.
  • Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade PC hardware to ensure optimal workstation performance.
  • Document incidents, problems, requests, and tasks in the ITSM system.
  • Escalate critical incidents to management when necessary.
  • Perform day-to-day operations related to inventory, shipping and receiving IT hardware.
  • Work independently while collaborating with the team to ensure success.

Overview

Corient is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Deskside Support Engineer. This role is responsible for supporting a wide range of IT-related issues, including laptops, networks, telecom, video conferencing, printing, mobility, and infrastructure problems. The Deskside Support Engineer will diagnose, resolve, and respond to IT incidents, requests, and tasks in a fast‑paced environment. The position involves providing end‑user support and installing/maintaining computer hardware and software using both hands‑on and remote capabilities to ensure efficient and successful operations of Corient’s corporate business, while adhering to all IT and security standards and practices. The Deskside Support Engineer will collaborate closely with other IT groups, business departments, and external entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, service-focused support in person, by phone, via chat, or email to both onsite and remote end users.
  • Troubleshoot problem areas promptly and accurately, providing end‑user assistance as needed.
  • Resolve complex issues and collaborate with other teams to identify root causes and solutions.
  • Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.
  • Document incidents, problems, requests, and tasks in Corient’s ITSM system.
  • Escalate critical incidents to management as necessary.
  • Perform day‑to‑day operational activities related to inventory, shipping and receiving IT hardware.
  • Work independently while being a collaborative team member committed to team success.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for processes and documentation.
  • Availability to work after hours or on weekends as required.
  • Travel may be required (up to 10%).
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree (or equivalent proven industry experience).
  • 3–4 years of experience in deskside support with a focus on end‑user services.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical and customer service skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting and installing laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Proficiency with Windows 11.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as OneDrive, SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ticketing and incident management platforms, for managing user requests and escalations
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and remote support tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A+ Certification (Highly Preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with Active Directory administration
  • Experience with Citrix and RingCentral.
  • Experience with cloud printing solutions such as Printix or Papercut.
  • Experience with Video Conference and Collaboration technologies.
  • Experience working with Active Directory.
  • Microsoft MCP Certifications.

This position is exempt and is paid according to the laws of the State of Massachusetts. The pay range for this position is $65,500– $85,000 per year. We are required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

Physical Requirements
  • This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Corient seeks to make reasonable accommodations that enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties when possible.
  • This position may require the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.
U.S. Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
