Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certificate in CAD/Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Min 7 years of civil, transportation, traffic, structural, aviation, H&H, and/or utility design experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads).
  • Strong knowledge of applicable design standards, processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven record of producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and revise engineering design documents and technical drawings using CAD platforms.
  • Translate engineer direction, markups, and sketches into design documentation with minimal supervision.
  • Apply CAD standards to ensure consistent layers, symbols, and sheet organization.
  • Perform quality control checks and incorporate agency standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues and maintain schedules.
  • Support preparation of technical documentation, reports, and exhibits.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation for collaboration.
  • Develop pipeline and facility layouts, including plan and profile drawings.
  • Produce hydraulic profiles, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Support field investigations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate design elements to support project delivery and construction documentation.

Overview

The Designer provides advanced design and drafting support for engineering projects. This role works with minimal oversight to prepare detailed construction documents, exhibits, and technical graphics in compliance with company standards and applicable agency requirements. The Designer supports engineers and project managers in project delivery through advanced CAD production, coordination, and technical documentation, while ensuring accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree or certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting/Design, Applied Science, or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience preparing civil, transportation, traffic, structural, aviation, H&H, and/or utility design documents.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads).
  • Strong knowledge of applicable design standards, processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven record of producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and project priorities.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.
