Job summary

KnitWell Group in New York seeks a Designer to drive the full design process for the Suiting & Jackets categories, from concept to final prototype. You will own market research, mood boards, sketching, specs and fit, while upholding the brand and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You'll bring 4–6 years of design experience in dresses or sportswear, strong sketching and construction knowledge, and a collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of design experience in Dresses and/or Sportswear.
• Ability to communicate stitch and construction ideas through sketches.
• Thorough knowledge of fabrication, silhouettes, color ways, construction techniques and trim.
• Creative and innovative sketching, design and conceptualization skills.
• Outstanding sense of style and color.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments.

Responsibilities

• Execute the design process from conception to final prototype for Suiting & Jackets.
• Manage market research, mood board creation, designing, sketching, specing and fit.
• Demonstrate company values by maintaining cross-functional relationships and pride in the brand.
• Research global and domestic markets to identify trends, fabrics and techniques.
• Collaborate with Director on seasonal fabric and yarn direction with Product Development.
• Attend all fittings and provide input on fit.
