Job summary

Rightsize Facility is seeking a high-performing Space Planner Specifier / Commercial Interior Designer for our Southfield, Michigan team. This fast-paced, client-facing role is a revenue-impacting position within a leading commercial furniture dealership environment.

You will partner with Sales to translate client needs into buildable, budget-aligned workplace solutions, owning projects from concept to completion with strong organization and proactive communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 3+ years of commercial interiors experience preferred.
• Experience within a furniture dealership or similar environment strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Familiarity with CET Designer, Project Spec, CAP 2020 Worksheet strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead programming conversations with clients and translate goals into workplace strategies.
• Develop responsive space plans aligned with program requirements.
• Generate accurate specifications, pricing, and installation documentation.
• Contribute design insights to deal strategy and multi-project management while maintaining high quality.

We are seeking a high-performing Space Planner Specifier / Commercial Interior Designer to join our growing Southfield, Michigan team. This is not a traditional studio design role, this is a fast-paced, client-facing, revenue-impacting position within a leading commercial furniture dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client & Programming Leadership: Partner with Workplace Solutions Managers (Sales) to lead programming conversations, gather project requirements and translate client goals into functional, future-ready workplace strategies
• Space Planning & Design Execution: Develop responsive space plans that align with program
• Specification & Documentation: Generate accurate specifications and pricing and develop installation documentation to ensure alignment between design intent, Project Managers and vendors to support smooth installation
• Strategic Contribution: Contribute design insight to deal strategy and competitive positioning and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality
