What You’ll Do

• Meet with homeowners for in-home design consultations
• Listen to clients' needs and create thoughtful, functional storage solutions
• Develop and present 3D designs
• Guide clients through product, finish and pricing decisions
• Manage opportunities from the initial consultation through the signed contract
• Follow up consistently with prospects and clients
• Develop relationships with builders, remodelers, interior designers, real estate professionals and other referral partners
• Attend networking events and help represent Inspired Closets in the Kansas City community
• Collaborate closely with our installation and operations team to provide an exceptional client experience

Previous experience in interior design, kitchen and bath, remodeling, home improvement, furniture, luxury retail, new home sales or consultative sales is especially relevant. Closet experience is not required — we’ll teach you our product and process.

We’re a locally owned custom storage company serving homeowners throughout the Kansas City area. Our beautiful Overland Park showroom allows clients to see, touch and experience our products before making their selections.

We’re a small, collaborative team, which means every person matters. We care about doing great work, treating clients well and creating an experience people feel good recommending to their friends.

This isn’t a traditional desk-based design position. You’ll spend time in clients' homes, in our showroom and out in the community developing relationships and growing your business.

Compensation

We know it takes time to learn our product, design process and sales approach, so we provide guaranteed compensation during your initial ramp-up and training period .

As you build your pipeline, the position transitions to an uncapped commission structure:

• 9% commission on company-generated projects
• Opportunity to earn 10% based on sales and profitability performance
• 13% commission on qualifying self-generated business

Expected first-year compensation: $60,000-$100,000 including guaranteed ramp-up compensation and commission.

There is no cap on earnings, and Designers who actively develop builder, remodeler, designer, realtor and other referral relationships have significant opportunities to grow their income.

This is an ideal role for someone who wants the security of paid training at the beginning but is ultimately motivated by performance, relationship building and the opportunity to control their earning potential.
