Interior Architects, Inc. seeks a Designer for its Dallas studio.

The Designer, under the supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, supports design work from concept to contract documents and contributes to presentations and project administration. Candidates have architecture or design education and 6+ years of workplace interior experience, with expertise in space planning, furnishings, CAD/technical drawing, and design development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• 6+ years’ experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning and adaptive re-use projects as well as corporate interiors.

Responsibilities

• Works with team to develop design ideas and create both presentation and construction drawings
• Drafts technical drawings
• Provide review of engineering and landscape drawings to ensure they comply with design solution
• Ensures integration into overall design
• Preliminary concept plans for larger projects
• May develop and finalize conceptual design for smaller projects
• Oversees Intermediate Designer to review space plans and tackles more complicated issues
• Provides detail for interior and architectural design projects
• Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages for both interior and exterior
• Assists in developing packages for larger projects
• Obtains cost estimates and produces final cost estimates
• Manages design budget for assigned projects
• May mentor the work of Junior and Intermediate Designers
