Designer III, Mechanical (Oil & Gas) – Houston, TX

Role Overview

The Designer III, Mechanical (Oil & Gas) will provide essential technical support, create comprehensive designs, and ensure compliance with project requirements while collaborating with engineers, architects, and other professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Provides computer-aided design (CAD) drafting, prepares drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches.
  • Coordinates and consults with engineers or other designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Supports equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
  • Supports the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
  • Presents design deliverables to project members, cross‑functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Plans, forecasts and actualizes deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements.
  • Identifies scope changes and estimates impact to effort and schedule.
  • Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves mechanical equipment and piping BOMs and designs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Four to Seven (4‑7) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Vault preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Strong relationship capabilities.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken.

Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Partially indoor professional office environment: exposure to bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
