Bowman is seeking a Designer III, Electrical (Oil & Gas) in Houston, TX to design and develop electrical systems for diverse projects. You will create detailed schematics and layouts using CAD, select components, and collaborate with engineers to meet project requirements and standards.

The role emphasizes accuracy, coordination, and effective communication with internal teams and clients to deliver high‑quality electrical designs that support construction and commissioning efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal.
• High level of personal integrity.
• Strong relationship capabilities.
• Proficient in both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Provides CAD drafting, prepares drawings and schematics from specifications and sketches.
• Coordinates with engineers or designers to complete projects to standards.
• Support equipment sizing, analyses, and other deliverables.
• Assist in engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
• Present design deliverables to project members and stakeholders.
• Plan, forecast, and track deliverables for project reporting and schedule.
• Identify scope changes and estimate impact on effort and schedule.
• Prepare and review electrical BOMs and designs.

Purpose

Design and develop electrical systems for various projects, ensuring their functionality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate closely with engineers and other stakeholders to analyze project requirements, identify design constraints, and propose innovative solutions to optimize electrical system performance. Create detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Your expertise in electrical design principles, codes, and regulations will be essential in selecting appropriate components and equipment, such as transformers, motors, circuit breakers, and control panels.

• Provides computer aided design (CAD) drafting, prepares drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches.
• Coordinates and consults with engineers or other designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Support equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
• Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
• Present design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
