Job summary
TRC, Member of WSP, seeks a Pipeline Designer III with 7+ years of natural gas, liquids, and utility pipeline design experience in the United States. You will develop alignment sheets, HDD profiles, permit exhibits, and construction drawings, guiding projects from initiation through construction support.

- Associate degree or equivalent in Engineering Tech, Drafting, GIS, or related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of pipeline design experience in oil & gas, utility, or energy.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; strong routing, stationing and documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of pipeline design and drafting deliverables for natural gas, liquids, and utility projects.
- Prepare and review alignment sheets, crossing details, HDD profiles, permit exhibits, site plans, and construction drawings.
- Interpret survey, GIS, LiDAR, environmental, and engineering data for inclusion in project deliverables.
- Develop preliminary and final design packages with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, environmental permitting teams, survey crews, GIS specialists, and project managers.
- Perform advanced quality control reviews and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
- Apply industry codes, PHMSA and FERC guidelines; support constructability reviews during construction.
- Develop and maintain drafting standards, workflows, procedures, and design guidelines.
- Mentor Designer I/II personnel and provide technical direction.
- Assist with project planning, workload forecasting, and scheduling.

We are currently seeking a Pipeline Designer III with extensive experience in natural gas, liquids, and utility pipeline design projects. The ideal candidate will possess 7+ years of pipeline design experience and demonstrate advanced proficiency in developing alignment sheets, HDD drawings, permit exhibits, construction drawings, and design deliverables from project initiation through construction support.
This position requires a strong understanding of pipeline engineering principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including FERC and PHMSA regulations. The successful candidate will work independently with minimal supervision, provide technical guidance to junior designers, and coordinate closely with engineering, environmental, survey, GIS, and project management teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting all phases of pipeline project development, including routing studies, feasibility evaluations, permitting support, detailed design, construction documentation, and as-built development.

- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Design, GIS, or related technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 7+ years of pipeline design experience within the oil & gas, utility, or energy industries.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of pipeline routing, stationing, alignment sheet development, and construction documentation.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
