Job summary

ESPO Corporation is seeking a Designer III for a six-month contract in Hookstown, PA. The role focuses on piping design within the power, energy and chemicals sectors, coordinating with engineers, drafters and clients to ensure project requirements are met and drawings comply with applicable codes and standards.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of piping design experience, strong CAD/3D tool proficiency (CADWorx/Navisworks/Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/MicroStation/Revit as needed) and proven

• 10+ years piping design experience in power/energy & chemicals industries
• Strong CAD skills; willing to learn other platforms as required

Responsibilities

• Implement assignments from Group Supervisor
• Collaborate with drafters, designers, engineers and support personnel on project objectives
• Manage deliverables including isom and BOMs and drafting progress reports
• Schedule work and mentor designers, checkers and drafters on small to medium projects
• Coordinate with client and construction personnel to address inputs and contractual requirements
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction estimates and related documentation
• Assist in estimating project design and drafting manpower requirements
• Approve drawings for conformance to codes and standards
• Maintain document indices and vendor shop drawing approvals
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Implement assignments and activities delegated from the Group Supervisor.
• Execute project objectives working with drafters, designers, engineers and support personnel in the planning, scheduling, quality and execution of projects.
• Manage the completion of all required deliverables including construct ion drawings, design studies and bills of materials.
• Schedule work assignments while providing guidance, training and assistance to designers, checkers and drafters on small to medium size projects.
• Under the direction of the assigned Group Supervisor, manage a segment of a project.
• Coordinate with client and construction personnel to ensure the client's input and job requirements are adequately addressed and implemented consistently with the contractual requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction estimates, as well as additional documentation related to a project.
• Assist in estimating project design and drafting manpower requirements.
• Responsible for the final approval of drawings to ensure conform it with applicable codes and specifications and established discipline standards.
• Maintain engineering document indices and drafting progress reports on projects. Confirm checking and approval for all vendor shop drawings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or Associates Degree with adequate drafting courses.
• Minimum 10+ years of piping design experience within the power or energy & chemicals industry.
• Overall understanding of technical disciplines and project execution.
• Strong CAD skills with experience in AutoCad, Microstation, or Revit with a willingness to learn the other platforms as required.
• Preferred Plant 3D and/or Aveva E3D
• Chemical/Refinery/Power/LNG background
• Strong supervision skills with the ability to mentor, lead, train and motivate employees to produce quality work.
• Research skills, analytical and creative problem-solving skills, questioning and feedback skills, project and time management skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing.
• Ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments. Coordinate a variety of tasks with good attention to detail. Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient in CADWorx, Navisworks and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor?s Degree preferred.
• Certificate in Design/Drafting preferred
