Job summary

Airswift is seeking a design professional in Houston to support advanced nuclear engineering programs with 2D/3D design, CAD systems administration, and technical documentation.

You will create drawings, develop models and design packages, generate BOMs, review for accuracy, and manage PDM/EPDM while collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and IT to improve design processes in a highly regulated energy sector.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent in Drafting/Design/CAD.
  • 5–10 years in drafting, design, CAD, or engineering technology.
  • Experience creating drawings, assemblies and technical documentation packages.
  • Strong technical aptitude with attention to detail and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Develop 2D and 3D models, assemblies, layouts, and design packages using CAD software.
  • Generate BOMs, specifications, and supporting engineering documentation.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Support CAD administration, engineering software tools, and user environments.
  • Manage PDM/EPDM systems, revision control processes, and engineering documentation workflows.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and IT teams to improve design processes and engineering efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Develop 2D and 3D models, assemblies, layouts, and design packages using CAD software.
  • Generate BOMs, specifications, and supporting engineering documentation.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Support CAD administration, engineering software tools, and user environments.
  • Manage PDM/EPDM systems, revision control processes, and engineering documentation workflows.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and IT teams to improve design processes and engineering efficiency.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design, CAD, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of drafting, design, CAD, or engineering technology experience.
  • Experience developing engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation packages.
  • Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience with PDM/EPDM systems, document control, and revision management.
  • Exposure to CAD migrations, software implementations, and engineering systems improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Revit is a plus.
  • Experience supporting engineering or manufacturing projects in highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, advanced manufacturing, industrial equipment, or related sectors.
