Job summary

SOLACE Boats is seeking a Design Engineer to help shape the next generation of boats, from hull to helm, inside and out. If you love turning Rhino files into seaworthy creations, we want to hear from you.

You’ll bring models to life in Rhino, craft compelling renderings, and design interiors and helm stations that balance beauty with buildability. You’ll work hands-on with fiberglass and composites and collaborate with production to turn concepts into real boats.

Qualifications

• Strong Rhino modeling skills in marine industry.
• Knowledge of rendering tools such as KeyShot or V-Ray.
• Solid understanding of boats, hulls, interiors, and helms.

Responsibilities

• Bring SOLACE models to life in Rhino for hulls, decks, interiors, and helms.
• Create renderings to attract attention.
• Design boat interiors and helm stations that are functional and beautiful.
• Collaborate with production to turn concepts into real boats.

Dougherty Manufacturing is looking for a Design Engineer to join our team and help shape the next generation of SOLACE Boats — from hull to helm, inside and out. If you love the idea of turning a blank Rhino file into a boat that ends up on the water with someone's family aboard, we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do

• Bring new SOLACE models to life in Rhino — hulls, decks, interiors, helms, you name it
• Create stunning renderings that make people stop scrolling and start dreaming
• Design boat interiors and helm stations that are as functional as they are beautiful
• Work hands-on with fiberglass and composite construction to make sure your designs actually build the way you imagined them
• Collaborate with our production team to turn concepts into real boats, not just pretty pictures
• Help define what SOLACE looks like for years to come

What You Bring

• Strong Rhino modeling skills in the marine industry — this is a must
• An eye for rendering and visual storytelling (KeyShot, V-Ray, or similar)
• A genuine understanding of boats — hulls, fiberglass, interiors, helms — you know your way around a boat, not just a screen
• A mix of creative talent and technical know-how; you can design something beautiful AND build-able
