Job summary

Acro Service Corp in Virginia is seeking a Naval Structural Design Engineer to develop and refine ship drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Siemens NX. You will gather data, perform calculations and present layouts to align with manufacturability and contractual specs.

Associate’s Degree with 3 years of experience is required; extensive naval design experience and proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 2D and 3D CAD proficiency with AutoCAD or Siemens NX.
• Experience developing and checking ship construction drawings or models.
• Knowledge of weld/NDT and material selection is required.

Job description

Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM, NX, or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.

Must Have Skills

1. 1. 2D and 3D CAD tool proficiency, AutoCAD or Siemens NX

Basic Qualifications
