Job summary

IA Interior Architects in Miami is seeking a Designer to contribute to project administration, design development and contract documents. The role supports senior designers, develops preliminary space plans and assists in selecting fixtures and finishes.

The Miami studio focuses on high-performance, visually compelling interiors and collaboration across teams to align client goals with space strategy. Proficiency in design software is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • 3–6+ years’ experience in corporate workplace interiors, hospitality, and commercial design projects.
  • Strong design sensibility and ability to support project teams through development and documentation phases.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, completes technical drawings and develops preliminary space plans.
  • Assists senior designers in selecting fixtures, finishes and furniture.
  • Supports design development, contract documents and field verification for projects.
  • Collaborates with design team to develop design ideas and ensure design intent.
  • Participates in site surveys and collects details to support documentation.

We are presently searching for a Designer for our Miami studio. Our Designers provides design support primarily in project administration, design development and contract documents.


Specific responsibilities will include:


  • At the direction of senior designers, completes technical drawings

  • Works with design team to develop design ideas

  • Provide preliminary review of engineering drawings to ensure they comply with design solution

  • Assists senior designers in selecting fixtures and finishes

  • Under supervision, develops preliminary space plans at a high level

  • At direction of senior designers, may provide suggested details for interior design projects

  • Researches and collects details for furniture and finish cost estimates

  • Develops preliminary plans

  • Assists senior staff with verification of site details to support design

  • Assists in field surveying of client spaces

  • Compiles pricing from manufactures and representatives

  • Is aware of and supportive to the work of the Junior Designer

  • Supports the team in collecting information for client assessment; may attend interviews, provide documentation support; developing skills working with Affinity program tool


Qualifications:


  • Graduate of architecture or design school: equivalent experience may be substituted

  • 3-6+ years’ experience in corporate workplace interiors, hospitality, and commercial design projects


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Working knowledge of the range of design principles and aesthetics

  • Familiarity with space planning methodology

  • Familiarity with furnishings and finishes

  • Intermediate sketching and rendering skills

  • Working knowledge of CDs and procedures

  • Familiarity with building systems, codes and ADA requirements

  • Familiarity with requirements for the path of travel

  • Familiarity with contract administration

  • Commitment to support projects through peaks and valleys

  • Intermediate MS Office Suite skills

  • Advanced Revit skills

  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills

  • Basic Affinity Program skills

  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic presentation and graphic communication skills
