Job summary

Applied Engineering Services INC in Idaho Falls seeks a Designer to produce and detail routine CAD drawings for components, panels, facilities and systems under engineering guidance. You will generate and modify drawings, layouts and models using industry standards and customer specifications.

The role requires strong CAD software expertise (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Creo, SolidWorks) and knowledge of electrical/IC design principles.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in CAD software, drawing programs, and 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Creo, and/or SolidWorks.
  • AutoCAD Electrical is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical and instrumentation & controls design principles
  • Solidmath and analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years experience as a designdrafter or a similar role, or,
  • AutoCAD, Vault, Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, and Revit training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Produces and details routine drawings/layouts of components, panel configurations, facilities and/or systems.
  • Generates and/or modifies CAD drawings under engineering direction and guidance.
  • Develops electrical wiring diagrams, panel layouts, etc.
  • Develops Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
  • Performs calculations in support of technical problems
  • Applies engineering design principles for component and assembly design as directed
  • Produces work in accordance with budget and schedule constraints
  • Works independently and as part of a team
  • Adapts to drawing format changes and standards
  • Calculates dimensions, weight limitations, and measurements for designs
  • Creates diagrams and layouts to illustrate the workflow of designs
  • Ensures designs comply with company regulations and quality standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Description

The Designer produces and details routine drawings/layouts of components, panel configurations, facilities and/or systems. Generates and/or modifies computer-aided design (CAD) drawings of various complexities with engineering direction and guidance. Uses industry codes, standards, and customers specifications to prepare work plans, drawings, models, and layouts.

  • 1. Works with engineering team toensure drawings are clear and accurate
  • 2. Develops CAD drawings and designmodels
  • 3. Develops electrical wiring diagrams, panel layouts, etc.
  • 4. Develops Process andInstrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
  • 5. Performs calculations in support of technical problems

Requirements
