Floor & Decor in Homewood, AL is seeking a design consultant to greet customers, listen to project needs, and create a cohesive concept reflecting the client’s style and budget. You will schedule appointments, advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects, and collaborate with store leadership to drive sales and customer satisfaction.

This role requires strong communication, multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with design applications

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year interior design or prior retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Proficient in basic math and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele from referrals and leads.
• Advise on tile, wood, stone and accessories for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, aesthetically appealing solutions.

Base PayThis role has a minimum base pay from $15.24 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.Purpose:Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. At Floor & Decor Designers are responsible for meeting with customers, listening to their project needs, educating them on all that is required for their project, and building a creative design concept that incorporates the customers personal style, lifestyle, and budget.Minimum Eligibility RequirementsMinimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experienceDegree in Design is a plusKnowledge of hard surface flooring is a plusProficient in basic mathematical skillsMust be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsBasic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suiteInternal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant positionEssential FunctionsGreet store customers in a helpful manner and supports store design walk-in needsSchedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the storeProviding tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects.Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutionsManage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up including consistent and concise communication to customers and others.
