Job summary

Solomon Page is partnering with a beauty and consumer products company to hire a Designer for a 6-month contract based in Columbus, Ohio. The role focuses on developing creative concepts and brand-right designs for beauty, fragrance, and body care products from concept to production.

You will translate fragrance stories and consumer insights into cohesive packaging and product designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver final artwork and design turnovers for production.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong portfolio with packaging and graphic design work.
• Experience creating cohesive design systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative design solutions for beauty, fragrance, and body care collections, core categories, and innovation initiatives.
• Translate fragrance stories, consumer insights, and beauty trends into distinctive packaging and product designs.
• Create cohesive design systems across product forms using color, typography, graphics, patterns, photography, and visual storytelling.
• Develop concept boards, mood boards, presentations, design turnovers, and final artwork for production handoff.
• Review mechanical artwork and production files for design accuracy and final approval.
• Research emerging beauty, fragrance, wellness, lifestyle, color, material, and packaging trends.
• Collaborate with design leadership, packaging engineering, product development, merchandising, production, and other cross-functional teams while managing multiple priorities.

Solomon Page is partnering with our client, a beauty and consumer products company, to hire a Designer for a 6-month contract based in Columbus, Ohio. This is a hybrid role focused on developing creative concepts and brand-right designs for beauty, fragrance, and body care products from initial concept through final production. The Designer will translate fragrance stories, consumer insights, and emerging trends into cohesive packaging and product designs while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Duration: 6-month contract
• Pay Rate: $55-60/hour
• Hours: 40 hours/week

Responsibilities:

• Develop creative design solutions for beauty, fragrance, and body care collections, core categories, and innovation initiatives.
• Translate fragrance stories, consumer insights, and beauty trends into distinctive packaging and product designs.
• Create cohesive design systems across product forms using color, typography, graphics, patterns, photography, and visual storytelling.
• Develop concept boards, mood boards, presentations, design turnovers, and final artwork for production handoff.
• Review mechanical artwork and production files for design accuracy and final approval.
• Research emerging beauty, fragrance, wellness, lifestyle, color, material, and packaging trends.

Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of professional experience in graphic design, packaging design, illustration, or a related creative discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating packaging design, graphic design, typography, color, and visual storytelling, including conceptual work.
• Strong conceptual thinking with experience developing cohesive design systems across multiple products, formats, and packaging structures.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
• Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Beauty, fragrance, personal care, or consumer products experience.
• Knowledge of print production, packaging artwork, and decorative techniques.
