Job summary

UFP Site Built in Burlington, NC is seeking an entry-level Designer/Estimator to design roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and engineered wood products for residential and commercial projects.

You will use MiTek software to prepare bids and layouts, and collaborate with experienced professionals to ensure customer needs are met. A paid training program will begin in Burlington, NC with 4–6 weeks of instruction, travel and lodging covered, offering growth within design and construction.

Qualifications

• Background in drafting, CAD, construction, or framing is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and analytical skills; comfortable with blueprints and loads.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and engineered wood products for residential and commercial projects.
• Use MiTek software to prepare bids, layouts, and engineered profiles.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals to meet customer needs and provide design solutions.
• Participate in paid 4–6 week training in Burlington, NC (September Design Trainee Class) with travel and lodging covered.
• Grow within the company with opportunities for learning and advancement in design and construction.
• Build relationships with retail clients, builders, framers, and developers to answer design questions.
