Job summary

UFP Site Built in Burlington, NC is hiring an Entry-Level Designer/Estimator to help design roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and engineered wood products for residential and commercial projects. You will work with MiTek software to prepare bids and layouts, and collaborate with a supportive team.

Training is in Burlington, North Carolina (September Design Trainee Class—4–6 weeks, with all travel and accommodation covered).

Qualifications

• Background in drafting, CAD, construction, or framing is highly preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service mindset.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design roof trusses, floor trusses, wall panels, and engineered wood products for residential and commercial projects.
• Use MiTek software to prepare bids, layouts, and engineered profiles.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals to meet customer needs and provide design solutions.
• Participate in paid Design Training Class in Burlington, NC, 4–6 weeks with travel and lodging provided.
