Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a Chesterfield secondary school to recruit a Design Technology Technician for a full-time, five-day-per-week role with an immediate start. You will assist with lesson preparation, maintain a safe workshop, and support staff to ensure practical lessons run smoothly.

The role offers market-competitive pay at £100–£110 per day and ongoing CPD opportunities within a dedicated team. Immediate start for an experienced, reliable technician.

Qualifications

• Health and Safety qualification preferred but not essential.

Are you an organised and practical Design Technology Technician looking for a full-time role in a secondary school?

Do you have experience supporting Design Technology lessons and maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop environment?

Would you like to work in a school with state-of-the-art Design Technology facilities?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in Chesterfield that offers state-of-the-art Design Technology facilities. The school provides a well-equipped environment designed to support practical learning and give students access to high-quality DT resources.

The school is looking to appoint a Design Technology Technician on a full-time basis, working five days per week for the rest of the academic year with an immediate start. The successful Design Technology Technician will support the preparation of materials and equipment, maintain workshop areas and assist teaching staff to ensure practical lessons run safely and effectively.

The successful Design Technology Technician will have:

• A Health and Safety qualification is preferred but not essential
• Experience working in a Design Technology, workshop or practical learning environment
• Knowledge of safe working practices and equipment maintenance
• Strong organisational skills
• The ability to prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons
• A reliable, proactive and flexible approach
