We are looking for a skilled and detail oriented Design Technician to support our Land Development Group (Civil Site Design) in our Indianapolis, IN or South Bend, IN office. Our team takes the lead on a wide range of projects including the more traditional residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use projects, and also works alongside our other team members on Power and Energy, parks, streetscapes, and natural resource work throughout the state of Indiana. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil site design and be proficient in using design software to create and modify plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of civil site plans, drawings and specifications for land development and infrastructure projects, including stormwater, sanitary systems, roads and utilities.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Additional experience with GIS and MicroStation (preferred).
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers and other team members to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of design documents and drawings.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to the project team.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associates' degree in computer aided drafting or related area of study or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in civil site land development projects.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, MicroStation).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices and standards.
