Peoples Natural Gas is hiring a Design Technician to support the Engineering and Operations Division with design work for gas facilities, field data collection, and admin tasks. You will work on construction, repairs, and site modifications, maintain databases, and assist with permits and cost estimates.

The role emphasizes CAD proficiency, adherence to codes, and opportunities for growth through a defined career progression from Design Technician I to III.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in natural gas or underground pipeline projects.
• Valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with layout and design engineering work for construction, repairs, or site modifications.
• Maintain informational databases and records using technical software, including AutoCAD drawings.
• Perform field work with measurements, stake locating, and ROW tasks.
• Provide administrative support or technical advice related to fieldwork needs (permits, materials requests, map plotting, etc.).
• Respond to calls requiring gas operations information with guidance.
• Prepare cost estimates and determine cost-effective methods of project completion.
• Ensure compliance with company, federal, and state codes.
• Participate in safety trainings and equipment use/repairs.
• Participate in audits, meetings, and briefings with internal and external groups.
