Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Design Technician 3 in Peoria, IL. The work will be onsite. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $27/hr W2 + full benefits, vision, dental, health insurance, 401K and holiday pay.
Our customer is the largest manufacturer of construction equipment in the world.

Summary:
The main function of a design technician is to prepare detailed drawings of architectural and structural features of buildings or drawings and topographical relief maps used in civil engineering projects, such as highways, bridges, and public works. A typical design technician utilizes knowledge of building materials, engineering practices, and mathematics to complete drawings.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
• Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
• Analyze technical implications of architect's design concept, calculating weights, volumes, and stress factors.
• Build landscape, architectural and display models.
• Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
• Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
• Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
• Calculate weights, volumes, and stress factors and their implications for technical aspects of designs.
• Determine quality, cost, strength and quantity of required materials, and enter figures on materials lists.
• Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects such as highways, sewage disposal systems, and dikes, working from sketches or notes.

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
• Knowledge of relevant computer application, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting).
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years experience required.
